No job is too big or too small for JB Tool, Die & Engineering, Inc. When called upon to make an upper spindle shaft for a high-speed rotary machine, we were ready to go. The customer required the spindle shaft to be constructed from air-hardening AISI A6 tool steel. The fabrication process began with CNC turning, grinding, and milling to achieve the rough size. Then we heat treated and used CNC cylindrical grinding to reach the finished dimensions of 9.5″ in length and 1″in diameter. We were also able to meet the requirements that the diameters be concentric within .0002″.
